To start your sliding glass door adjustment project, first lift or lower the door on the track with a screwdriver or Allen wrench. Raise it just enough to clear the track and roll smoothly. Locate the two adjusting screws at the bottom of the door (on the face or edge of the door) and pry off the trim caps that cover the screws.
Unscrew the screws from the bottom, center and top of the inside of the sliding door frame. These screws secure a sandwiching piece that holds the door in place within the frame. Remove the L-shaped clips holding the door in place in the upper and lower track. Remove the clips to allow free door movement.
The slider can only be pulled out, away from the home. When the slider is on the inside track, the only way to remove it is when the stable panel is removed. When the sliding panel is on the outside track, there is nothing preventing an intruder from removing the slider and entering your home.
Insert rollers into mortise in bottom of door, making sure to line up center screw on rollers with adjustment hole. When rollers are halfway installed, take a wooden block (do NOT use a hammer) and knock rollers all the way into mortise. If installing non-Andersen rollers, you will need two screws and a drill.
